Each year at Berlin Buzzwords we like to get together on the Sunday before the main conference schedule begins for a Barcamp and this year’s online conference is no exception!

This year’s Barcamp takes place online on Sunday 7th June from 16:45-18:30 CEST

Barcamps are informal sessions, a kind of "un-conference", with a schedule decided on the day. It is all driven by the interests and expertise of those who attend so each one is different, but ours are always great!

Although the Barcamp doesn't have a strict schedule, it won't be completely devoid of structure. Berlin Buzzwords Barcamps are dynamic events, focused on the overall Berlin Buzzwords topics, tackling the same challenges but in a different format.

Attendees can propose 15 minute discussions on the main Buzzwords topics of: Search, Stream, Scale, and Store. These are participatory sessions and more inclusive than regular conference talks, with everyone taking part. You can participate by leading the session, by giving some insights, by asking some great questions, or maybe just with your enthusiasm. If you are not sure what kind if things to propose it could be: something you’re working on right now, something you would like to know more about, or something that you think is missing from the main schedule.

Join the Berlin Buzzwords Slack #barcamp channel at berlinbuzzwords.slack.com on Sunday afternoon where proposals for discussion will be collected. Proposals should be marked to make it clear which topic it belongs to. Attendees can make proposals, comment on the proposals to ask questions, and can vote on proposals with the thumbs-up emoji.

After some time for voting the proposals with the most votes will be chosen, and attendees will move to videoconferencing rooms for discussion. Each discussion room with be moderated by a member of the bbuzz team to keep the discussions on time and on track.

We will be using a whiteboard at miro.com to create the schedule so you know where and when discussions are taking place.

The Barcamp is a great way to get meet new people and discuss fresh and exciting topics. We hope to see you on Sunday!
